About the Aarchive

The complete guide to books adapted into film and TV.

The Adaptation Archive is a growing collection of book-to-screen adaptations—novels, memoirs, short stories, manga, graphic novels, and more—that have been adapted into films and television series. No criticism, no comparison scores, no ranking by fidelity. Just a clear, searchable record of what was adapted and where to find it.

If you've ever finished a book and immediately searched whether it has a film adaptation, or watched something and wanted to find the source material, this is where you come back to. Everything in one place. No scattered tabs, no dead ends.

Hi, I'm Piggy.

I've always moved through stories sideways. Finish a book, and I'd immediately wonder how someone imagined it visually. Watch a film, and I'd feel the pull to know what it was before it had faces, music, and runtime constraints.

I wanted a space where both could coexist. I couldn't find it. So I built it.

The aarchive now covers hundreds of book-to-screen adaptations across film and television, spanning decades, languages, and genres. It grows every week and gets more comprehensive as readers contribute.

I'm also on Substack, Instagram, Pinterest, and Letterboxd if you want to follow along.

The aarchive is free — and will stay that way. But keeping it running takes time and money. If it's been useful to you, you're welcome to contribute whatever feels right. No pressure, no expectation.
