Welcome to The Adaptation Archive

Hi, I’m Piggy.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted a space where I could explore books and their screen adaptations side by side—adding to my TBR and my watchlist in the same breath. When I couldn’t find it, I figured I might as well build it.

Of course, that’s easier said than done.

It took me a while to get here. I talked myself out of this idea more times than I can count. Overthinking and anxiety aren’t exactly helpful co-founders. But in a rare moment of clarity and courage, I finally started this project.

I’m not a critic. I’m not a reviewer. And I’m not presenting these newsletters as a definitive canon. I’m exploring alongside you—putting together an archive, one adaptation at a time. What interests me isn’t fidelity or comparison, but the simple act of gathering these works in one place: the art of collecting them.

With that in mind, every Sunday, I’ll leave you with one of two things: a fresh list of book-to-screen adaptations, or a beloved favourite I genuinely enjoyed and would recommend.

If something I love ends up being something you love too, that’s beautiful. If not, that’s okay.

Stories land differently depending on who we are, where we are, and what hurt or healed us that week.

Either way, I’m glad you’re here.

So welcome—truly.

Welcome to the quiet joy of stories finding new shapes.

Welcome to this small project with big hopes.

Welcome to the AArchive.

PS: If you have suggestions, favourites, hidden gems, or adaptations that destroyed you in the best way, please send them my way. This little archive will only get better if it’s shaped by more than one pair of eyes.

The Adaptation Archive is free and always will be.
